Mykonos, Greece

Β 20180611_091201_HDR#happiness this island surely does exemplify exactly that. I was expecting to have an experience similar to santorini but it was santorini plus so much more, we both agreed mykonos is a much friendlier and inviting island. We decided to stay at Mykonos beach hotel, it was just a 1 mile walk from little venice and it was everything I wanted it to be! We landed at 8am from Athens which was much too early for check in but they allowed us to check in anyways. We put our bags in the room and headed out to explore the island. If you are an early bird on vacations (which you should be) then you are ahead of the game in Mykonos. Around 10 AM those pituresque white and grey streets are so crowded you are forced to alternate every other person just to pass through. There are endless shops and restaurants so come hungry and leave some room in your suite case! Our favorite dinner was at a cash only restaurant called Marco Polo, the owner was so sweet and was able to communicate with us just by her big smile (which is universal so use it more often). πŸ˜€ The shared meat plate for two and grape leaves were just out of this world!! 🍴 Speaking of cash only, the ATMs are a rip off so bring alot of cash with you. If you read articles on Mykonos before your holiday then I’m sure you’ve read that a car is a good option for exploring the island, but I disagree! We took the public buses that left from Fabrika, but I would not trust the posted signs with the times on them. I would say they roughly leave every 45 minutes so just grab Γ¨na Fredo Cappucino, do some people watching and wait for the bus to arrive. It cost 1,80 euro each way so I would recommend always keeping 2 euro coins on you since you can just pay on the bus. The line to pay for a ticket can take a while so paying on the bus is your best option, but again keep those 2 euro coins on you. The buses are crowded and hot but those roads are pretty dangerous to drive on so I truly dont recommend a car. We spent two days on Paradise beach, the chairs cost 7 euro each and the Umbrella 6. The bar as soon as you enter is the best deal, 2 for one drinks all day long. Come 4:30 PM hired dancers and Jeff the DJ have everyone dancing on table tops! WARNING this is not your traditional greek dancing! Lol. The Gyros at the food court are amazing along side a Mythos greek beer! 🍺 Another spot we passed by on the bus was called Paraga beach, if you are ok with hostels they had a really cool fun looking hostel to stay at right on the Beach! Our favoritr beach was Plati Vialos, gosh was it pretty! Again chairs and an umbrella was 20 Euro, but well worth it! I could revisit that beach forever! Our last dinner was at Nikos, which was directly across the street from Mykonos beach hotel. Owned by a British woman with seafood that will just blow your mind! We got the shared seafood dinner for two, sea bass, grilled octopus, calamari, crawfish, rice and a little bit of heaven!!! Mmm mmm mmm was it good! Be sure to make a reservation, if not you’ll be in line for well over an hour! Here are just a few recommendations for you, but im sure anything you see and do will be amazing! Another place I would suggest staying is either Adonis hotel, Poseidon hotel or anywhere close to little Venice! And don’t forget to see the windmills at sunset, it’s a bit crowded but is great for people watching and feeling the love in the air!!! Overall I think Mykonos is AMAZING and will surely be back!!! ❀❀✌✈
